Are we running out of fish?

I was doing Uber yesterday and I decided that on my way home I would stop by the fish market and get some fish for dinner.

So I stop by Kim’s fish market on Portland Avenue, I parked across the street in a Church’s parking lot and walked across the street to the store.

When I got inside, I located the person working that shift: I don’t know if he was the owner or not, I looked around and I didn’t see any fish so I asked him “Do you have any fish “ he pointed to a sign that had pictures of fish on it.

I asked him what kind did he have? He replied “ Red Snapper and Whitings” so I said let get about Three in which he went to the back of the store, shortly he returned with a box, the box was about maybe two or two and a half inches tall nine wide and about fifteens long.

He laid the box down in front of me and opened it! I saw three Red Snappers; frozen stiff I might add, and they had the head still on them, as he looked at me he said “they are all cleaned.

So I asked about the Whitings, and when he brought those they were frozen too! They didn’t look very appetizing either! I then asked him if he had any fresh ones? He said no!

So I asked “ how much were the Red Snappers”? He weighed them up and gleefully said “$30.00”! WOW I thought to myself! But I bought them and went home and ate a salad.
